Relational Skills in Real Life
Chris Coursey brings you the THRIVEtoday podcast, full of real-life stories of encouragement and transformation from people using relational skills every day!
What are "Relational skills"? They are brain-based skills that give us the ability and capacity to build meaningful connections with the people in our lives. With practice, relational skills are what we use to maintain our relationships during strain, conflicts and difficulties so we endure hardship well as we stay connected.

Relational Skills in Real Life
E167 The VLE: Identity Distortions
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Part 2 of our series explores the brain’s “Verbal Logical Explainer” and how past pain can distort the way we see ourselves, others, and reality. Identity wounds and the lies we believe about ourselves can be some of the most toxic—and hardest to recognize on our own.
In this episode, we explore how spiritual warfare can help us recognize and confront those lies, while turning to God and trusted people for support. We’ll begin learning practical skills to break free from false beliefs, return to joy, and live authentically as ourselves—no matter what life brings our way.
